Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalogue to independent music publisher Primary Wave for around $200m. The sale includes the rights to her hit songs …Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, Toxic, and Gimme More. Spears, 44, is one of the best-selling female artists, with over 150 million records sold worldwide. The singer had previously stated she would ‘never return to the music industry’ after her last song, a duet with Elton John, was released in 2022. Primary Wave has also acquired the rights to the estates of Notorious BIG, Prince, and Whitney Houston. The sale comes after Spears ended a 13-year-long conservatorship in 2021, which saw her finances and personal life controlled by her father.
